Turn on your Canon printer and make sure it is connected to a power source.
Connect your printer to your laptop using a USB cable. If your printer has wireless capabilities, you can connect to your laptop wirelessly instead.
Open the Start menu on your laptop and click on "Settings."
Click on "Devices" and then select "Printers & Scanners."
Click on the "Add a printer or scanner" button.
Your laptop will search for available printers. If your Canon printer is detected, it will appear on the list of available printers. Click on your printer to select it.
If your printer is not automatically detected, you can click on the "The printer that I want isn't listed" option and follow the on-screen instructions to manually add your printer.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary drivers and software for your Canon printer.
Once the installation is complete, your Canon printer should be connected to your laptop and ready to use.
